On June 18, 2022, 7Fields summer camp in the village of Semipolki, Kyiv region, opened its doors for a new group of children. Coming from the parts of Ukraine that suffered shelling and bombing, 150 children can now have some rest and enjoy summer thanks to a special sponsorship program that ASBIS took part in.
Most of the infrastructure facilities in Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Sumy, and Chernihiv regions are damaged or destroyed and cannot operate, including educational institutions. As of mid-July, a total of 2116 educational buildings were damaged, of which 216 were destroyed.
To give back the joy of summer to the children from war zones, 7Fields school has organized a special summer camp that operates on a charity basis and allows anyone to sponsor the initiative. The camp will ensure that children are taken care of and have a good time, while their families are busy looking for jobs or settling in new places.
ASBIS has sponsored 3 groups of 50 children each, who will spend 12 days in a safe environment of the camp with plenty of entertainment. The territory has numerous playgrounds, two swimming pools, a rope park, a tennis court, a cinema, and street chess. Children can also try themselves in various workshops and activities.
The camp is well-equipped in case of air raids - there is a furnished basement with two exits, electricity supply, refrigerators, and a stock of food and water. Professional psychological help is also available throughout children’s stay and takes place as individual sessions of play therapy.
